Inaugural Minority Business Awards Gala

We are excited to announce our Inaugural Minority Business Awards Gala!
This signature event will be an evening of honor and elegance recognizing the achievements of North Florida’s top minority and women-owned businesses, dynamic industry leaders and major corporations that are committed to supplier diversity.

When: October 24, 2014 at 7 – 10 p.m.
Where: FSU University Center Club Grand Ballroom
Dress: Black Tie Optional

Awards

Board Awards
Supporting Organization: Demonstrating outstanding efforts, excellence and innovation related to its on-going or special program/services with their industry or profession, or the association industry. The award is not based on the activities of any individual or group of employees and the nominee does not necessarily need to be a member of the chamber, but is a strong supporter of minority/women businesses.

Founders Award: Demonstrated outstanding efforts, excellence and innovation related to its on-going or special program/services with their industry or profession, or the association industry. The award is not based on the activities of any individual or group of employees and the nominee must be a member of the chamber and a strong supporter of minority/women businesses.

General Public Nominations
Chamber Business of the Year Award: A business who is a member of the Chamber and demonstrates leadership and has made significant contributions in the community through volunteering or serving on a board(s) with nonprofits.
Chamber Professional of the Year Award: An individual who is a member of the Chamber and demonstrates leadership and has made significant contributions in the community through volunteering or serving on a board(s) with nonprofits

Future Leader: A member or students who has been a member for under a year and has made significant professional growth through their work at their job/or their volunteer work in the community.

Keynote Speaker

Marie Johns

Marie Johns is a former deputy administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration. She was nominated by President Barack Obama and unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate and served as deputy from 2010-2013. As deputy she was responsible for lending more than $30 billion dollars to small businesses and also served as the chair of the President’s Interagency Task Force on Veterans’ Small Business Development. Johns is also a former president and CEO of Verizon.

    Hi! I just happenend upon your webstie and love what you are doing. I am opening a holistic dog bakery and bath also in NW Arkansas for the same reasons with my 13 yr old black lab.
