Arrive @ 5: Business After Hours

Business After Hours are a great way to invite other members of the Big Bend Minority Chamber of Commerce to your business to network and learn more about what you do. Opening the doors of your business to others helps everyone get to know you and your business and will encourage others to give a business referral on your behalf. This is one of many benefits of being a Chamber Member, so be sure to take full advantage of it!

Meet & Eat

The BBMC’s monthly Meet and Eat provides our members in the restaurant industry a unique opportunity to network, expand customer base and market your business at no additional cost to you! Once a month the BBMC will mobilize our members and the local business community to lunch, learn and network at the facilities of one participating member restaurant.

A Conversation with…

Every month the Chamber’s media team will drop into the offices of one of our member businesses offices to get an insider look of your business and practices. This monthly web series provides an opportunity for entrepreneurs of any level to give promote their business, services, products and recent promotions. These monthly segment will be featured on the Chamber’s YouTube page.

Premier Business Worshops

The Premier Business Workshop Series brings attendees together by providing opportunities to network, learn, exchange ideas, and gain an insight on business trends in the region. This series consists of various learning programs including Membership 101, Educational Workshops, Speaker’s Bureaus and much more.
The Chamber is constantly looking for feedback with regard to topics considered most resourceful and pertinent to our members. Are you interested in learning more about a specific business-related topic?

President’s Coffee

This meet and greet opportunity provides BBMC members with business advice and access through various Chamber resources and governmental partners. This is a great networking tool for minority business owners throughout the region.
Coffee with the President series will allow business owners, employees and other entrepreneurs the ability to network and expand their business opportunities. Please invite your business friends and others to this fun filled event, we are sure you will leave with better opportunities than when you came.

(Ribbon Cuttings & Open Houses)

Ribbon Cuttings & Open Houses are a great opportunity to introduce the membership to your business and become acquainted with your services. If you are interested in having the Big Bend Minority Chamber host a Ribbon Cutting, please review the information below or contact the Esther Francois at Windell@mybbmc.org to submit your request and to determine when a possible ribbon cutting opening might exist.

General Information:
• Ribbon Cuttings are usually held on Tuesdays, however not during the week of a regularly scheduled monthly Mixer
• Ribbon Cuttings run from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
• There is no charge for members to attend

What Chamber Staff does:
• Publicize the event (newsletter, flyers, email, press releases)
• Arrive at your location approximately 45 minutes in advance to help set up the sign-in area; bring ribbon, tape, thumbtacks, scissors
• Create nametags
• At approximately 12:00 p.m., a representative of the Chamber will make a few announcements and introduce the host. The Ribbon Cutting will follow the announcements.
• Photos of the Ribbon Cutting will be included in the Chamber’s newsletter

What the Ribbon Cutting Host does:
• Provide a table and two chairs located at the entrance to the Mixer area
• Provide appetizers, wine, and water (or some other non-alcoholic drink) for attendees

Sample Itinerary:
• 10:30 a.m. Members and guests arrive and network informally
• 11:00 p.m. Mini Program facilitated by CEO
• Welcome Members, Guests, and Non-Members
• Introduce Dignitaries / Special Guests in attendance
• Introduce Ribbon Cutting Host
• 11:15 p.m. Ribbon Cutting Host Comments
• 11:25 p.m. Chamber Representative Comments
• 11:35 p.m. Ribbon Cutting and Photos
• 11:45 p.m. Informal networking continues until approximately 1:00 p.m.
