About the Awards Gala

2nd Annual Minority Business Awards Gala

Dear BBMC Members, Across the country, minority and women-owned business is thriving with employment at minority-owned firms increasing 33 percent to 7.7 million jobs since 2007. The Big Bend Minority Chamber of Commerce (BBMC) facilitates access to programs and events that serve our region’s minority and women-owned businesses and help ensure we realize this level of growth locally. By promoting a climate that supports the establishment and vitality of these businesses, the entire North Florida economy is strengthened. With this in mind, the BBMC believes these business owners and leaders deserve an evening of celebration and recognition for all of their contributions to our local economy. I am excited to announce that our 2nd Annual Minority Business Awards Gala will be held October 23, 2015, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the University Center Club Grand Ballroom. Last year, our Inaugural Awards Gala drew a sold-out crowd of more than 300 attendees who came together to recognize and celebrate the contributions of Big Bend minority and women business leaders. This year, we are privileged to host Kasim Reed, the Mayor of the City Atlanta, as our keynote speaker. Since taking office in 2011, Mayor Reed has actively supported small-business initiatives, promoted economic development and encouraged women in business through the creation of the City of Atlanta’s Women Entrepreneurship Initiative – a unique system of resources to help women grow their businesses. This evening of honor and elegance is approaching and I hope you will consider taking a leading role in this event by becoming a sponsor. The Gala needs your help to celebrate these outstanding minority and women business owners. By becoming a sponsor, you show your support to these business owners and create an unforgettable evening. Sponsorship provides a number of exclusive benefits, such as VIP admittance to a private, pre-event reception, and high-visibility recognition in event and chamber materials. There is a sponsorship level to suit every budget. If you are unable to sponsor this event, I invite you to still come and celebrate with us. This event is a lot of fun and provides a great opportunity to network with prominent North Florida business leaders. Tickets can be purchased online. Thank you for your support and your consideration of sponsorship. I look forward to seeing you at the Gala! Sincerely, Windell Paige, President Big Bend Minority Chamber of Commerce
